Daydream Republic is the maker of the first ready-made pinboard map in the Philippines. They also produce and carry travel merchandise that will help the local community travel and live more mindfully. Their products include travel-friendly personal reusables like collapsible cups & bottles, net bags, pocket cutlery and more.

Our studio helped them develop a new visual identity that had a more premium and coherent look. The goal was to emphasize their position as a mindful travel brand and be able attract their ideal dream advocates.

Our studio helped them develop a new visual identity that had a more premium and coherent look. The goal was to emphasize their position as a mindful travel brand and be able attract their ideal dream advocates.

The previous logo for Daydream Republic was a the shop's name surrounded by flora in a watercolor treatment. They wanted to update it to something that used cleaner and simpler elements, that would immediately be understood to be a travel brand logo upon first look. They also wanted to retain the existing font of the logo (DaunPenh).

We appreciated the client's proactive approach in giving us a clear idea from the get-go of what they wanted to achieve for the brand, as well as some possible directions that we could take. We pinpointed the main concepts of travel, celestial, and bohemian to play around with, with some of our initial concepts shown above.

Our initial approach was to develop logo ideas for each concept separately, but later on realized that the best representation for the brand was a brand mark that could encapsulate all three ideas equally.

Here's the final logo, with our client's write-up about it below that summarizes it very eloquently: 

" Historically, the North Star guides the travelers to find their way. The same way, we want to help guide our community to explore the world in a mindful way, and use travel as their creative inspiration.

The waves represents our advocacy to help preserve the seas and the planet.

Combining everything forms a travel stamp. This brand is our love letter to the world. Every traveler's story aiming to make a positive impact."

We also developed collection icons for each of Daydream Republic's product categories, and some other secondary graphics that the brand can use to spruce up their posts on social media. The graphics put more focus on the local flavor of the brand, another point of pride for them.
